The 2008 has been good to me thus far. Job is going well and school starts tomorrow. I have Psychosocial Aspects Of Disability and an Employment class, which deals with job placement. The Psychosocial Aspects sounds interesting. Everything else is the same.

My Friend Dalia

This journal is dedicated to my friend Dalia. She is my middle school friend from Croatia. Here is how we met.
Before I start though, let me tell you all that I'm originally from Bosnia. When the Bosnian war started in 1992, my family and I started moving from place to place to escape the war. I lived through a part of the Bosnian war, and hearing sirens and fireworks causes me a startling affect to this day. The first country that my mom and I immigrated to was Croatia. My grandfather was born there, so my mom has a lot of relatives there.
We arrived in Ivanic-grad Croatia in June 1992, and I started 8th grade in September 1992. That year was my first year in a school with individuals who are sighted. Dalia was one of the first people I met , and soon we discovered that we have a lot of things in common . We both like to read listen to the same kind of music and we enjoy meeting new people. So we became very close. We still kept in touch when I moved to Germany, however we lost touch when I immigrated to the United States. On New Year's Eve, I spoke to my uncle from Ivanic-grad, and I told him how I would love to connect with Dalia again, and an hour later, my uncle called her, and two hours later we were talking on skype. I will never let go of Dalia again. I should mention that I also have a cousin name Dalia. I don't keep in contact with her. But I still love her and pray for her emotional healing, as she has been exposed to severe domestic violence. My friend Dalia is named after my cousin Dalia.
